Meet Judge Martinez

Judge Martinez was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley.  As the daughter of migrant farmworkers, she understands the value of hard work and is committed to maintaining that work ethic in the courtroom.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola Marymount University and her law degree at the University of Southern California School of Law.  Prior to her election, she served at the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office in the misdemeanor division.

While in office, Judge Martinez was elected by her peers to serve on the Dallas County Bail Bond Board and was also selected to be a member of the City of Dallas Judicial Nominating Commission by Councilman Adam Bazaldua.  Other accolades include the Emerging Leader award by the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a leadership award from the LULAC Rainbow Council.

Judge Martinez has dedicated her career to serving disadvantaged populations and those lacking services in their own communities as a social services coordinator, grant writer, attorney and now judge.  Her unwavering belief that we can do better, guides her daily life.
